How Frauds & Receiverships Work Together
A panel of 5 receivership experts will be moderated by Hernan Serrano of S & P Forensics to discuss ways that the Securities Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and Receivers work together. Irving Picard, the Court appointed Receiver in the Madoff Ponzi Scheme case, will provide an update of the that specific case, how he continues to identify assets, the process for bringing those assets into the receivership, formulating litigation strategies and how Receivers determine distributions. Brian Bash and John Carney, both from Baker Hostetler will discuss how their receiverships were managed and will provide instruction and insight for ensuring positive results. Stephan Schlegelmilch from the SEC will discuss the procedures they the SEC follows for such cases and how the Receiver and the SEC work together to increase estates for the good of victims.
